Head Coach: Sean Woods
At the helm of Scott County Boys Basketball is Coach Sean Woods, a name synonymous with Kentucky basketball greatness. A former standout point guard for the University of Kentucky, Woods is best known as one of the legendary “Unforgettables,” playing under Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino from 1988 to 1992. His passion, leadership, and clutch performances made him a fan favorite—and earned him the rare honor of having his jersey retired in Rupp Arena. He is also a charter member of the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame.
Coach Woods brings over 20 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, including a stint as the 2012 Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year. His coaching journey has been defined by his commitment to discipline, development, and excellence both on and off the court.
As a leader, Woods blends elite-level playing experience with a deep understanding of the game and a personal connection to Kentucky basketball culture. Under his leadership, the Cardinals are building on their proud tradition and pushing toward new levels of success.
Scott County Basketball isn’t just in good hands—it’s in legendary ones.
