Toby Harris – Head Girls Basketball Coach
Born and raised in Scott County, Kentucky, Toby Harris is a proud product of the Scott County basketball tradition and the NOSTOB community. A standout player at Scott County High School from 1994 to 1998, Harris helped lead the Cardinals to the 1998 state championship, earning All-State Tournament Team and All-8th Region honors along the way.
Harris began his coaching career at Georgetown Middle School in 2018, where he led the boys’ basketball program through 2023. He then transitioned to coaching girls’ basketball at Royal Spring Middle School before being named Head Coach of the Scott County High School Girls Basketball Team in 2024—a full-circle moment that reflects his lifelong passion for the game and his dedication to the community.
Coach Harris’s philosophy centers on accountability, growth, and belief. He emphasizes teamwork, effort, and mindset, guided by principles such as:
-
“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.”
-
“I can accept failure—everyone fails at something—but I cannot accept not trying.”
-
“You must expect great things from yourself before you can do them.”
A proud father of four—Kobi, Lexi, KJ, and Cameron—Coach Harris is also a committed advocate for youth sports and community development in Scott County.
